Miss-Matched Rainbow Mitts
Boy, did I have a job getting this simple picture loaded. My photo program crashed this morning, and I've had to learn to use another one that's installed on my computer. Grrrr....
Anyway, here you are, just for those of you who encouraged me to go for the rainbow. Two mommy mitts (finished except for weaving in the ends) and a little girl mitt, still on the needles. I'm guessing at the little girl size, hoping it will fit somebody named Becky who lives in Juneau, whose mommy is named Sheryl. Maybe I can get S. Claus to drop them down the chimney.
Now that the blog tour is over, I'll try to get back to more personal blogging. I hope you enjoyed the posts as much as I enjoyed doing them. Congratulations to the drawing winners (your names are posted here). The grand prize winner (drawn from the names of those who entered at least four drawings) will be posted on Monday, after all the holiday hoopla has died down. And there'll be a special surprise--a second grand prize, drawn from the names of those faithful friends and fans who entered ALL the drawings. So watch for that.
There's one more post you might be interested in reading, especially if you're an author who is considering doing a blog tour some time in the future. Dani Greer and I chatted about blog tours and live tours at her Blog Book Tours blog. And tomorrow or Friday, I'll try to get over the Pecan Springs Journal and post something about how the book is going.
In the meantime, Bill and I wish you a very wonderful Thanksgiving holiday.
Reading note: If the only prayer you said in your whole life was, "thank you," that would suffice.--Master Eckhart

Hey the Mits are adorable, and the colors are great. There must be something wrong with my brain as I don't see that they are mismatched. I said earlier that I would have made them the same, but after seeing them together they look like they belong. Isn't it wonderful the way colors make things blend and fit together.
Hope your Thanksgiving was wonderful, and that you had time to rest and relax. The blog tour was lots of fun, and congrats to all the lucky winners of your wonderful books.
Got my copy of Chinas book of days back from my sister, took some doing but I wrested it from her hands. I think she's getting her own copy for Christmas :)

Hi, Susan - LOVE the mittens; glad you went with rainbow rather than matched (I'd have encouraged you to do it too). I can't wait to get the book with the pattern. I have 2 pair of socks in the same pattern, purchased from a Natural Foods Store. I used them when I had surgery, and also when I had that worst of all procedures, to keep my tootsies warm, and have fun. I know they lifted my spirits, and I believe that they provided the medical teams with a smile that made them lighter, and more attentive, as well.
Love and roses,
Geni

I liked the reading note, and thank you is indeed my prayer, everyday and particularly on Thanksgiving. Twenty six years ago my T day dinner was clear broth and rubbery jello (still don't much like jello) I had just had surgery for colon cancer.
And here I am I live, I love, I am loved, and there is joy. Life is good. Thank you.

I echo the sentiments of The Meister! The mittens are great, too. All the best to you and yours this holiday. Turkey's in the oven at my house, knucks on the needles. And no travel, which is itself something to be grateful for.;)

I enjoy your pictures so much. Thank you for all the trouble that you take to show them to us.
Happy Thanksgiving. It is SNOWING here in Midland, Tx today! Wow!

Susan, a very special Thanksgiving greeting to you and your family.
I predict that the mittens will be a huge success. Send a pair here to Michigan -- it's snowing this morning!
The blog tour was great fun. Guess I missed yesterday so I don't qualify for the special drawing -- bummer. Good excuse: our 7th great-grand was born yesterday morning.
All the best to you. I look forward to every single post.

I predict your mis-matched mittens will be a big hit come Christmas morning. Hope Becky doesn't read your Lifescapes postings. I may have to learn to knit mittens myself; never tried anything that complicated. Congratulations.

I enjoyed the blog tour, especially because I live in a part of the country you don't get to with your live tours. If you came to New England, I'd find a way to see you, but this was the next best thing. I appreciated how each post addressed something different. All of them were interesting. I'll look forward to another!

Thank you, Susan, for a marvelously conducted blog tour! I visited every day! For many reasons, I am an “armchair” traveler and love the fact that the internet allows me to virtually visit places of interest around the world and allows me to visit my favorite authors who blog. Lifescapes is a daily read!
I learn so much from your postings. I can’t imagine the time you must put in to prepare them. One question - how do you come up with an appropriate Reading Note for every entry? Amazing!
I particularly enjoyed your Blog Tour Retrospective because you hint at future virtual tours.
Again, thank you for sharing your world.
