Wild family
First bluebonnet
Coral honeysuckle
Reading note What a wild family! Fox and giraffe and wart hog, of course. But these also: bodies like tiny strings, bodies like blades and blossoms! Cord grass, Christmas fern, soldier moss! And here comes grasshopper, all toes and knees and eyes, over the little mountains of the dust.--Mary Oliver

Your bluebonnet photo is lovely. Mine haven't bloomed yet, but I remain hopeful.

The lichen is a wonderful color, how long will the blue bonnets be in bloom? Any chance there might be some on April 4?

Beautiful! I've just sown the bluebonnet seeds. We'll see how they do. If I have to dig them up and bring them in over the winter and keep them in the basement greenhouse, I will, in order to see blooms eventually. I know our perennial lupines here take quite awhile to bloom when grown from seed.
