Thanks, Susan. Other people's writing schedules and monkey tricks help keep me on track (half-days are murder).

I've always liked the way Louise Dickinson Rich* put it; the way to succeed with writing was mostly "applying the seat of the pants to the seat of the chair."

Thanks, that helps. I feel much more normal now. ;) Especially after having failed NaNoWriMo so miserably. I just don't get any thrills out of intense deadlines anymore. I'd be happy to finish two good projects a year even without a deadline, but maybe that's the real missing element.
